Usually not. Rechargeable battery motors need no wiring and are topped up with a small charger or a solar strip on the window. Hardwired motors are available for new construction and remodels where low-voltage wire can be run while the walls are open.
Quiet enough for a bedroom. You hear a soft whir for a few seconds while the shade moves, not a grind, and the motors we install are designed for exactly that setting.
Motorized treatments are controlled by remote, wall switch, phone app and schedules out of the box. Voice and whole-home integrations depend on the motor system and a hub, so we confirm compatibility with your specific setup at the consultation before promising anything.
Yes. Motorized tilt is available for wood and faux wood blinds and for shutters, motorized draw for vertical blinds and drapery tracks, and full motorization for honeycomb, roller, Roman, sheer and woven wood shades.
Often, yes. Many existing rollers, honeycombs and Roman shades can be retrofitted with a rechargeable motor, and Hunter Douglas products can be upgraded through our authorized repair service. See Repairs & Restoration.
Motors carry the manufacturer’s warranty, and we service what we install. For Hunter Douglas PowerView® systems we are an authorized repair service, so batteries, hubs and motors are handled with genuine parts.
