What the authorization means

Why authorized matters

Hunter Douglas products are built to be serviced, but only by people trained to do it. Here is what that buys you.

Factory-trained

Trained and authorized by Hunter Douglas on their lift systems, fabrics, operating mechanisms and PowerView® motorization, product by product.

Genuine parts

Cord locks, clutches, vanes, fabrics, battery packs and motors ordered through the Hunter Douglas dealer network, not generic substitutes.

Warranty-safe

Work performed by an authorized service keeps your Hunter Douglas warranty intact. Unauthorized repairs and generic parts can void it.

Done in your home

Most repairs are completed in a single weekday visit, in place, by the owner of the company.

How it works

Photo, quote, fixed

Most Hunter Douglas repairs are diagnosed from a photo and completed in one visit.

  1. 01

    Text a photo

A picture of the headrail, the problem and the remote or app if motorized. Daniel identifies the product and the lift system.

  2. 02

    Confirm coverage & parts

If the product is under warranty, the repair is documented for it. Genuine parts are ordered through the Hunter Douglas dealer network.

  3. 03

    In-home repair

The repair is done in place, on a weekday visit, using factory procedures. PowerView® systems are re-paired and re-programmed on the spot.

  4. 04

    Documented for your warranty

You get a record of what was done and which parts were used, so your warranty stays intact.

FAQ

Hunter Douglas repair questions, answered

Everything people ask before they book. Something else on your mind? Call or text and Daniel answers.

An independent company that Hunter Douglas has trained and authorized to install and repair its products. Authorized services use genuine Hunter Douglas parts and factory procedures, and their work keeps the product warranty intact. Mount Wilson Blinds holds this authorization.

Look for the Hunter Douglas name on the headrail, bottom rail or a fabric label, or on the remote or app if the shades are motorized. If you are not sure, text a photo and we will identify the product and the lift system.

Not when it is done by an authorized service with genuine parts. Repairs by unauthorized companies, or with generic parts, can void the warranty. That is the main reason to use an authorized technician.

Yes. Battery wands and packs, remotes, hubs, re-pairing, limit resets, firmware and motor replacement on PowerView® shades and blinds.

Duette® and Applause® honeycombs, Silhouette® and Luminette® shadings, Vignette® Roman shades, Pirouette®, Designer Roller and Screen shades, Sonnette®, Provenance® woven woods, Parkland® wood blinds, and NewStyle®, Heritance® and Palm Beach™ shutters, among others.

It helps for warranty claims but is not required for a repair. If the product was registered, we can usually look it up; if not, the product itself tells us most of what we need.

Yes. Authorization covers the products, not where you bought them. Many of our repair customers bought their shades years ago from a dealer that no longer exists.

Yes. Mount Wilson Blinds sells and installs the full Hunter Douglas range alongside our other lines, and services what we sell for as long as you own it.
